The Energy of Asking for YES While Looking for NO
Volume 2, Issue 3

To anyone reading this newsletter, the power of intention isn’t news.

You know that intention – that thought – has energy and power. Study after study proves that focused, directed intention changes things in the material world. If you’d like more information about this, check out Lynn McTaggert’s work at: www.theintentionexperiment.com.

But even without the data, you know the power of intention because you experience it yourself. Positive thoughts feel good, negative thoughts …don’t. The phrase “good vibes” has a basis in physics, as it turns out. Good vibes help influence good outcomes.

That’s why people like affirmations so much: we know, on some level, they help create the outcomes we desire.

It’s what people say and do after they use affirmations that I want to focus on. See if any of this sounds familiar:

>  You pitch a project, and intend that it is yours. Then you drive home, worrying about overhead expenses when the project doesn’t come through.

>  You go to an audition, and see yourself in the part. Then you go home, and practice your response when you hear someone else won the role.

>  You intend to stick to the diet this time and you pay for the trainer and the special food and the support group and you stick to your resolve. But whenever you pass a reflective surface, you say to yourself, “Yep. Still fat.”

That’s like saying “yes” to the future, and then instantly looking for the response in the present to be “no.” Since the present moment is all there is, it’s not a practical way to achieve a different future!

Energy is energy. It has no agenda.

Your intention to land a plum account has one vibe. Your intention to talk yourself out of potential disappointment by saying, “I probably won’t get it” has a different vibe. In the quantum field, they are both powerful intentions.

Harness the Energy Around You!

You need to be in charge of which intentions you nurture and launch into the world.

For many of us, it’s even more of a challenge these days. Dire reports of the current economic cycle are all over the news. You might be (or know) someone whose livelihood and/or living conditions has been directly impacted by the economic adventures we’re seeing all over the world.

On no level am I saying that you or your friends intended economic disaster. There are some things that are out of our control. The GDP and the LIBOR and a load of other acronyms that add up to the current economy are not in our control.

Whatever your circumstances, you control the way you think – the way you intend – to experience every situation.

This isn’t about putting your head in the sand. Don’t spend the money before it’s in your bank account just to prove to the Universe that you intend to nail that sale.

If you want more information about techniques to help you change the way you are “wired” so that it’s easier to hold the positive vibe, check out these Resources

But do take charge of how you think and speak about your bank account, for instance. There is a difference between saving for a rainy day and putting away the funds that will allow you some options down the road. Only one of those intentions delivers choice. The other delivers rain.

There is a difference between closing the sale and defending against hearing a “no” by saying, “Think it over and I’ll be back in a week.” Only one of those intentions can deliver a yes.

In the grand scheme of things, some people believe that having so many people focused on “how bad the economy is” actually helps make the economy worse. Again, science tells us there might be something to this idea.

Whether there is or not, I know this for sure: I feel better when I choose a positive intention, in the present moment. I attract more positive circumstances to me when I stay in positive intention. We’re “intending” all the time. It’s in my control to ask for yes, and to expect to see it.

Look for the YES, and stay in the present!
